Motif Scrapbook ll

Every year our students would perform and Mohamed Youssef would perform authentic Egyptian tahtib dance. During these years purchasing Middle Eastern music and coined hip scarfs was not as accessible as it is today. We would bring large shipments of good from Egypt and sell them at festivals like this one in VA.

We came together and created community during the "early years" of Tribal Style in the DMV.

Danielle and I performed at the Festival Asia in Silver Spring, MD and the Raqs Fiesta Asia, DC every year. We are on silhouetted on this flyer, top right.

Heidi Alexander and I got along really well, we just clicked from day one. I hosted her to the DC area in 2006.
